DVLA Compliance
We take legal compliance seriously. Here's exactly how we meet our regulatory obligations.
Our Registration as a Supplier
All number plate suppliers in the UK must register with the DVLA. We hold a current DVLA supplier registration and maintain the records required by law. Our registration number is available on request.
We retain records of every transaction including proof of identity and proof of entitlement for a minimum of 3 years, as required under Schedule 2 of the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001.
Identity Verification
Before we despatch any road legal plate we are required to verify:
- V5C registration certificate (logbook)
- New keeper supplement (V5C/2)
- Certificate of entitlement (V750 / V778)
- Retention document
- Purchase invoice from a registered dealer
- Current UK or EU driving licence
- Valid passport
- Recent utility bill (within 3 months)
- Bank or building society statement (within 3 months)
Manufacturing Standards
All road legal plates are manufactured to British Standard BS AU145e — the current standard for retroreflective number plates. This covers materials, reflectivity, durability, and typography.
If you suspect someone is using a cloned or fraudulent number plate, report it to the police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
